About Us

Who We Are

Young Athletes

Who We Are

Welcome to Peninsula Tennis Academy, the Bay area's premier tennis instruction academy, offering dynamic classes for all ages and skill levels in the Burlingame, Hillsborough, San Mateo, Millbrae, San Bruno, and South San Francisco areas.

We specialize in offering small group lessons, with a limited number of players on the court, in order to provide maximum individualized instruction time.

What We Do

Young Athletes

Who We Are

Using a cooperative coaching philosophy, we communicate with players and parents to set realistic goals, make decisions together and discuss technical aspects of the player's game as we work on skill development, strategy and tactics through a games based, situational approach.

We also serve players who need more specialized attention during lessons. Players who are differently-abled, have autism, ADHD, or who just need a little more specialized attention due to focus or family issues

are encouraged to join.

Young Athletes

Young Athletes

Young Athletes

We follow the USTA recommended method of teaching, which means that we use lower nets, smaller courts and lower compression balls for players

age 10 and under.

Because young players don’t run as fast as older athletes, a smaller court size makes the game more manageable. Using low compression balls means a lower and slower bounce, which results in more hits and scoring opportunities.

The overall effect is a much faster learning curve and greater love of the game.

We acknowledge and reward progression of skills,

and we work with parents and players to make

tournament plans, if players want to test their game in a more competitive environment.
